Pick out a specific moment from the following clip and discuss whether you saw it as an instance of a type of government structure, a way to maintain order, or bullying?
Justify your answer and respond to someone else's post on a different section of this clip.
Well, hello. In response to your question about government, bullying, or maintenance, I think its all three. I believe that governments emerge from a need to maintain order, and often uses bullying or violence to perform that function. Unfortunately, throughout history, governments have been bullies more often than not. Democratic forms of government have only developed in the last few centuries. Government for the rest of history, and even in the case of some democracies, is all about bullying.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the clip where some of the boys showed up with face paint and spears. This seemed to represent a kind of revolution against an established form of government. I suppose bullying was also present in this clip, as a means of revolting against a government.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mr. Verbon's Comment about bullying sometimes being used by governments. That definitely seems to be a major theme in this story.
